The 1995 edition of Schubert, Schubert and Schubert was dedicated to the memory of Steve Mendelson, whose drawing of Schubert has become the symbol of this festival. Steve Mendelson was an artist and writer of children's books and worked many years for The Washington Post. Steve's love of music, like his love of all that was good and beautiful, was an essential part of a life devoted to all the arts but with a special emphasis on music.
